WThese groups, led by a dedicated set of instructors, are like a home base throughout the week, where students meet every day and spend the bulk of their time. The Summer Tournament Our debate camp culminates with a tournament on the last day of camp. This provides students with the opportunity to practice what they learned during their week at debate camp. Core Lectures Every day, all students will attend at least two lectures on core skills topics (public speaking, research, refutation, philosophy, civics, current events, affirming, negating, framework, and weighing & evidence comparison, and more!). These are designed to provide a solid foundation in the technical areas that are essential to competitive success. All lectures will be coupled with small group drills with a mentor (described below) focused on implementing each new concept. Lab Fellows & Drill Mentors Lab Fellows are our current debaters in high school and middle school that have been selected as teaching fellows to provide additional instructional support and work one on one with students. Every student will be assigned an instructor who will serve as their dedicated drill mentor. Students will meet in small groups with their mentors after every core lecture
