February 24th is now officially the date of the inaugural Central Park Marathon! The USATF Certified Boston-qualifying race will comprise 5 loops of the park crossing the 102nd St. transverse. The exact start and finish are yet to be determined but they will round out the distance appropriately. The USATF Certified Half Marathon course will feature one lower loop crossing the 72nd St Transverse, one loop crossing the 102nd St Transverse and one full loop of the park.
Race swag will include an awesome medal, a hoodie and the usual great NYCRUNS post-race meal. Hot Chocolate? Of course! The official time limit is 5 hours and 15 minutes but as a rule of thumb the last thing we unplug is the finish line mat – take your chances over 5:15. There will be no race day packet pickup. The standard “No Refunds or Transfers” policy applies especially in the event of bad weather. February 24th is not the best bet in the world for perfect marathon weather, but it actually was quite nice last year - and February 23rd was beautiful. Fingers crossed.Registration available at https://nycruns.com/races/?race=nycruns-central-park-marathon
