What's Included

Students will build on the fundamentals covered in level I and further their understanding and use of familiar everyday expressions and phrases aimed at satisfying needs of a concrete type. Students will be able to comfortably introduce themselves and others and ask and answer questions about personal details such as where they live, people they know and things they have. Students will become comfortable interacting in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help. Students will learn to talk on the phone, give directions, discuss current event, order at a restaurant and more. Please note: If you did not take level I in spring 2014, you must take a placement test, made up of two parts: written (multiple choice section and a short writing sample) and oral (brief conversation with a professor). The test is offered Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary. The written part of the test is also available via email at classprogram@cervantes.org. ABOUT INSTITUTO CERVANTES The Instituto Cervantes was created by the Spanish government in 1991 to promote the teaching of Spanish and to help spread the culture of the Spanish-speaking countries. The headquarters of the institution is located in Madrid and Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), birthplace of writer Miguel de Cervantes.
