Economics Study Day
The Multi-tiered Economy

What does it mean when we say 'The Economy'?  Is it just a system that uses land and resources, labor and capital to provide the goods and services we all need? Or is it a multi-tiered arrangement with generally overlooked factors which can be key to understanding why The Great Recession lingers on?

Join us for a two-part workshop that will explore this multi-tiered arrangement and some of its implications.

The first session will look at 'The Economy' in an effort to understand the nature of this system.  We will explore its purpose and to what extent it meets some objectives.

The second session will explore the tiers of the economy, their nature and the relative contributions that they make.

No prior knowledge of economics is necessary to fully participate in this workshop.

Sunday, December 2, 2012 9:00 am until noon
Fee: $15

This workshop will be held on Sunday, December 2nd at the School of Practical Philosophy 12 East 79th Street commencing at 9:00 am and concluding at noon.
