What's Included

Israel is a melting pot in every sense of the term. It is a place where people, flavors, and cultures from all over the world have melded together to create a fascinating culture, cuisine and way of life. Join CKCA and Israeli native Chef Shlomo Schwartz for an exploration of the flavors, the people, and the stories that make up the New Israeli Cuisine that has captured the imaginations of chefs and the appetites of diners from Tel Aviv & Jerusalem to London, NYC, LA and beyond. Shlomo will guide us through the classic flavors of the Israeli palate and the newest trends of Israel's finest restaurants. Menu to include: Sabich tartine; a contemporary twist on the classic Iraqi-Israeli street food, Blushed Arak cocktail; a refreshing drink that highlights the national flavors of Israel, Mediterranean Freekeh Tabouli; a classic salad using an ancient but now trendy grain, Lemon & Herb Couscous with roasted pistachios, Grilled eggplant halves with tahini, pomegranate molasses and mint, and for dessert one of Shlomo's signature dishes, "Balagan on the Plate"; a whimsical combination of Israeli treats including semolina cake, tahini cream, mango coulis, and date syrup. Forget falafel--this is the real thing. Shlomo Schwartz is an Israeli native, a CKCA graduate and personal chef living in NYC. He is the kind of cook whose journey and experiences as a person influence each and every dish that he creates as a chef. “Your Soulful Kitchen”, the name of his personal chef service captures the intimate approach that he takes to the business of personal cheffing. THIS CLASS WILL BE HELD AT OUR MANHATTAN LOCATION: The Ramaz School 114 East 85th Street New York, NY 10028
