In the last few years the reviews of Spanish wines that appear in Robert Parker?s Wine Advocate, include Asian spices as a frequent descriptor of many of the highest rated wines, disregarding the region or the variety. Is this an indication of winemaking uniformity at the top, or a subjective trait? In this tasting we will discuss the impact of soil, variety and winemaking techniques in the flavor profile of the most ambitious wines.
