Video: Developing a Unique Personal Vision (Q2)

About This Activity

For students who want to understand the essentials of video storytelling and develop an original point of view.   Learn the basics- which camera angles work, how to catch the best light, editing for sound and picture, formatting, and structure of a successful screenplay- as well as "tricks of the trade," including "borrowing" a familiar story and making it your own, understanding the all-important premise, narrative techniques, overturning genre expectations, and what good dialogue leaves out.  Students work with the same story idea, and as the class progresses see the myriad ways the story is told in a two-minute video.   This approach can lead to a long-form film.
