Are you ready for some "nutty challenges?!!" The Harvest Festival Nut Run in New Roads, Louisiana is taking place the weekend of The Harvest Festival. We're challenging you for a double entry of 1 mile and a 5K to compete for the best overall time! There will also be challenges for the business, family, and school who has the most number of participants on race day. Prizes will be awarded. How nuts are YOU??

THE Challenge! (For the "hard core" runners!!)Just can?t get enough?! The Challenge will involve running a 1 mile run followed by a 5K. Best combined time, male and female, wins the ?Nutty Challenge!? Registration for both races is $25.Nuttiest Business Award!Get your employees moving! The business with the most number of participants to run/walk the 5K and/or 1 mile wins a plaque. (This includes school employees).Nuttiest Family Award! Start off the school year right and spend some active, quality time together to run/walk the 5K and/or 1 mile. The nuttiest family, which may include extended family, with the most participants earns a plaque! Nuttiest School Award!Put some extra steps into your physical education curriculum! The school with the largest number of students to participate in the 1 mile or 5K will win! If an elementary school wins, students which participated will be allowed to wear their race shirt on race day and will win a one day rental of one or more inflatables (depending on number of students registered). If a high school wins, students will be allowed to wear race day shirt to school and will also win a healthy snack, which will be brought to their school. Tri us. will provide weekly training plans leading up to the 5K, which can be found on our website and weekly in the sports section of The Banner. False River Tri-Club also meets at 5:30 at Satterfield?s to swim and 6:15 to run. Having a support team can make training less daunting and ultimately rewarding because people find motivation i groups! Why wait?!
