Open to beginning and intermediate students, this class will cover numerous hand building techniques while also providing instruction in wheel throwing. Students may opt to focus on one area, to try both, or to combine the two methods. Students with previous experience will be helped to grow their skills and develop a personal style. Instruction includes both group demonstrations and one-on-one time. Finishing techniques covered include trimming, handles, wet clay surface treatments, making sets, consideration of forms and glaze application.

Supplies: Clay and glazes are provided. There will be a firing fee of $2.50 per pound; pieces with dimensions between 12” to 15” will be $3 per pound. All glazeware greater than 15” will be $3.50 per pound. Tools are not supplied. Students may purchase a basic set of tools for under $21 at the first class.
