Learn traditional and/or experimental printmaking processes while concentrating in one area or exploring many. Etching like Rembrandt, Goya and Kentridge; Monotype like Degas and Olivera; Woodcut like Durer and Frankenthaler; Lithography like Kollwitz and Rauchenberg. Be surprised and inspired while working in a supportive environment.

Supplies: New students: CAW supplies inks, solvents, oils, acid, hand cleaner, etc. If you have printmaking supplies or paper, bring them to class. Eventually you will buy paper, plates, and tools as needed. Otherwise, we have items to get you started. Bring an apron or old shirts, at least two. 1.5” flexible putty knifes, and disposable gloves. Returning students: Bring ongoing projects, tools, paper, plates, flexible putty knives, apron, and disposable gloves as needed. CAW supplies inks, solvents, oils, acid, hand cleaner, etc.
Notes: No class 11/22. Fee includes one monitored 4-hour print session per week. Requires faculty approval and adequate knowledge to work independently in a print studio. No instruction.
