This is a non-technical class for those ready to initiate or expand a cohesive body of work. The emphasis is on portfolio development, and deeper understanding of the photographic process. Students will show past work, discuss ideas, create new work, and formulate an ongoing practice of editing and sequencing. We will meet every other week to allow time for making new work. The course will refine aesthetic skills and deepen your level of personal expression with critiques, readings, visual presentations, and assignments. Each student will present a portfolio in the last class.
Meeting: September 28; October 12 and 26; November 9 and 30; December 7
Level: Intermediate + Advanced
Supplies: Any kind of camera may be used.
Notes: Students must bring six finished prints to the first class. Portfolio (a small selection of prints) review required for admission. Please contact the Registrar for more details at Katrina@cawmail.org before registration.
