Explore a variety of printmaking methods while learning innovative techniques that can be combined with drawing, photography and digital processes. Inspire new approaches to imagery and expand your artistic horizons. Concentrate in one area or experiment with many such as etching, woodcut, monotype, paper and plate lithography, collagraph, silk aquatint, transfer, digital and chine colle.
Level: Intermediate + Advanced
Supplies: New students: CAW supplies inks, solvents, oils, acid, hand cleaner, etc. You can bring examples of your work to the first class as well as any supplies, tools, or print paper that you have on hand. Otherwise, we have items to get you started. Bring an apron or old shirts, two 1.5” flexible putty knives, and disposable gloves. Eventually you will buy paper, plates and tools as needed. Returning students: Bring ongoing projects, tools, paper, plates, flexible putty knives, apron, and disposable gloves as needed. CAW supplies inks, solvents, oils, acid, hand cleaner, etc.
Notes: No class 11/22. Fee includes one monitored 4-hour print session per week. Requires faculty approval and adequate knowledge to work independently in a print studio. No instruction.
