Our Getting Started Program begins Fall 2014. Exact date to be announced. It Meets bi-weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 8 weeks.
About Long-Distance Maintenance Training
Participants must be able to run 3 miles EASILY to start this program. This program is geared for runners who want to run a 10K or Half Marathon. Participants are expected to run two additional "short runs" during the week. Maintenance "long" runs are designed to help long distance runners break through the "wall" at 6, 8, and 10 miles. YOU decide on the distance you want to complete with our flexible schedule. Run injury free in pace groups each week the GalloWAY!
Long Distance Maintenance Training Schedule
This is a 10-week program. Participants will meet to run in pace groups once a week on Sunday afternoons. All runs will be on Navarre Beach Bike-Walk Path . Times will vary depending on the distance (2:00-4:30 pm) Schedules will be distributed at the first group run. New members receive Jeff's book "Training Programs", a technical training shirt and timer. Alumni receive a training calendar only. Everyone receives a medal and certificate at completion.
Getting Started Training Fall 2014/ 6:00pm
Exact dates TBD. Meetup Tues & Thurs for 8 weeks, promptly at 6:00 pm. This 2-day-a-week training program is geared for the novice runner, PT test or Long distance beginners. Participants meet across the Navarre Bridge behind the Tom Thumb. Each session lasts about an hour. Participants run on their own the 3rd day. Learn how to run-walk-run, train with proper running posture, nutrition, speed drills and endurance while having fun running in pace groups. Everyone runs a 5K to finish.

Alumni are any members who have attended any Navarre Galloway Training program. New Participants receive a technical training shirt, book, training schedule, and interval timer.Alumni only receive training schedule. Additional Timers, shirts and books can be purchased from the Galloway website.

Local 5K Race - runDisney Races
Trainees of the Getting Started Program will run a local 5K race together as their culminating 5K race. Trainees are expected to sign-up on their own. Group Leaders and trainees will start this race together and then enjoy all the festivities at the Race Afterparty.
All Half-Marathon and Marathon Runners receive discounts to enter any runDisney race as members of the NBRAW Meetup.
Will be held after the last run session. All participants will receive a Galloway Medal. Family and friends are invited to attend. Cost is $10/person
The training fee is non-refundable. Requests for refunds are considered for medical reasons only and must be accompanied by a physician's letter. They must be submitted prior to the half-way point in the training season. A $25 processing fee will be retained.
Galloway Participants Requested to Join Meet-up
There is no fee to join the NBRAW Meet-up . The website allows a central point of communication with training groups. Trainees RSVP to upcoming runs, receive study guides on-line as well as important announcements about inclement weather. Members can forward announcements to their cell phone or private email. Navarre Runners and Walkers Meet-up
NBRAW Meetup is an on-line, all volunteer organization dedicated to building a community of runners and walkers who love the outdoors and keeping fit in Navarre. We Meetup to train and run local and runDisney races together.
Each new participant will receive a printed running schedule, training book, technical shirt and eco-interval timer. Alumni members will receive a printed schedule only.
All runners are encouraged to join the Navarre Runners and Walkers Meetup to get in their weekly training runs. This is a great way to get to know other runners and walkers in the Navarre area. Membership is free. A schedule of weekly runs is posted on the Navarre Beach Runners and Walkers website.
Every participant will need to provide their own water, flashers and flashlights for running after dark.
