About This Activity

Nashville  Mayor Karl Dean is challenging and inspiring Nashville residents to be more  physically active. Over 5,000 Nashvillians “stepped up to the challenge” in  each of the last two years by participating in the Mayor’s Challenge 5K Walk/Run  – the city’s only free 5K event with a free eight-week training program offered  through Metro Parks & Recreation. As Mayor Dean’s most popular health event  to date, the Mayor’s Challenge 5K brings out Nashvillians of all ages and  fitness levels to walk and run the streets of downtown Nashville. The event  also includes a  Kids’ Fun Run, a 0.75-mile course for children 12 years of age and under. Last day to purchase a t-shirt is 11/4/13.
