Description

This class is for anyone attracted to the 5-string banjo but not sure which style to try first (clawhammer or bluegrass). It will introduce you to the 5-string banjo and a few of the more common ways of playing it. Students will learn first-position chords, frailing (clawhammer), two- and three-finger picking, and a few fretting-hand techniques. By the end of the session, you should be ready to head off into Clawhammer Banjo 1 or Bluegrass Banjo 1 or Old Time Two Finger Banjo with a running start.
