The Tara Grant Run/Walk began in 2007 as a way for Tara?s family to use her legacy to promote domestic violence awareness. The event kicks off National Domestic Violence Month in October. Turning Point's staff, friends, and supporters will honor, welcome, and remember all victims and their families, and celebrate survivors who have changed their lives. Please join us to support our mission to end domestic violence. Event proceeds support programs and services offered to those we serve.
Event entry fee is $25; children 12 and under are free. Registration will be held the night before, at Runners Eve, September 27 at CC Plus Dance/Fun/Fitness. Runners Eve is a free family health and fitness fair for participants from 4 to 7 p.m. Runners and walkers are asked to attend and register that night for the next day?s event and receive their racing bibs, swag bags and T-shirts. CCPlus @ The Center is also offering a 5K Run/Walk Club to get participants ready for the event. The Club meets there at 7 p.m. Mondays and/or Thursdays starting Aug. 5. Fee is $25 for the eight weeks; those who actually participate receive free entry into the Tara Grant Walk & Run. For details, call 586-463-3277.
