The Perfect Century Ride: Exquisite scenery, remote, challenging, interesting...Finally! A century ride with just the right amount of everything! Enjoy incredible views of some of nature's finest scenery as you ride this fabulous route.
The ride begins with a beautiful cruise around Siskiyou Lake. Test your mettle with a challenging climb up to Mumbo Summit along the Sacramento River. The river should be rushing and wildflowers blooming along the way! Enjoy a fantastic downhill segment with distant views of Shasta lake, the Trinity Alps and Scott Valley but be careful, the road is remote, so potholes and gravel will be present. Both the Metric and full century routes will circle around the sky-scraping 6000 ft. spires of polished granite called the Castle Crags. The route then takes a scenic forested one lane road along the Sacramento River across the Pacific Crest Trail and through the quaint towns of Castella and Dunsmuir on the way back to the City of Mt. Shasta where you enjoy a fantastic lunch at the Headlands of the Sacramento River.
