What's Included

ADVENTURES IN ROBOTICS USING LEGO MINDSTORM EV3 COURSE OUTLINE: Computer Programming: Anyone can create a Scratch project and claim it is a game. But game designers use concepts and techniques for which resources are scarce and hard to find. This course gives campers techniques that game developers use to create compelling games. Students will create and share the games they have been designing. Other campers will have a chance to play the games, remix them, and create their own. Robotics: Kids will discover the exciting world of robotics by building their imaginations by using innovative LEGO®MINDSTORMS® EV3 building set and software. Campers will work with open-ended problem-solving activities using EV3's easy to use graphical interface in a context which makes it fun and engaging to learn using science, technology, engineering and mathematics. KEY LEARNING VALUES: Learn to create engaging and interactive animations and video games with characters, settings, obstacles and controls. Working in teams, campers learn to write their scripts, create storyboards, and design characters. Concepts of computer programming and game design. Learn computational practices like being iterative and incremental, testing and debugging, abstracting and modularizing, reusing and remixing. - Design and build cool robots using motors - Add sensors to robots to control their behavior - Turning and spinning robots - Learn powerful micro computer brick drag and drop software - Understand and use mathematical skills and science concepts - Understand problem solving, troubleshooting and experimentation - Learn about robotic competition and leagues - Ability to work in a team

About This Organizer

At Genius Pluto we want to make computer programming and robotics fun and affordable. To achieve this we are partnering with local colleges and universities to provide computer facilities and graduate students as instructors who can understand teens and kids better. Also we are following curriculum for Scratch and App Inventor  designed by MIT.
