Additional Information
Packing List: To Be Confirmed
- Ruck Sack / Back Pack. It would be a good idea to have a ruck with outside webbing to attach items for easy access. If you have a waist belt, it will be to your advantage. The belt helps you shift weight from your shoulders to your waist giving the other some rest during weighted movements. Especially when carrying heavy awkward things like trees.
- Cold weather gear. You'll be working up a sweat in the cold so wearing thick cotton clothes are a no no - we all know this. Make sure you have an outer shell type parka - wind can be a killer. Gloves are your call but you'll want to make sure you keep all your digits so don't skimp out on this gear. Some people like mitten types during the movements - they work too. Cold weather Under Armor gear kicks ass.
- Socks. Cold weather training socks are key. Bring an extra pair. No cotton. I do Injini original weight with smartwool over the top. Two pairs equals more warmth and less chafing.
- Shoes. This is a tough one. We all like the comfort of sneakers but there will probably be snow. In that case, we would recommend boots but that's your call. Snowshoes might also be required, but will confirm closer to the date.
- Head Gear. Cover you melon. Don't forget a head lamp and safety strobe. I usually always carry a neck gator because I can adjust the top and bottom at any time to keep in heat or release it. Or, you can always take off your hat. :)
- Compass. If you have one, bring it. We don't need one per person so don't worry too much about this.
- Axe. Not sure if this is required yet, but for now lets assume it is.
- Rope. Bring a 12ft section of 1/2" rope.
- Carabiners and 550 cord. We need one carabiner per person.
- Attitude. Bring your best one.
- Friends. We've got plenty for us, but bring some more. The more the merrier.
- Jokes. We'll be out there for a while so bring your dirtiest jokes :)
