Training

Gold's Gym in both Charles Town and Martinsburg are holding classes to get you properly prepared for this event. We have come up with some exercises for your team to that will challenge you from head to toe. Come prepared to plank, plyo, run, jump, pull, push, navigate, and have a great time. We will not give out the exact exercise you will be doing but we will definitely tell you to get in shape.

Packet Pick-up

Race Day Packet pick-up Orr's Farm Market will be where we will pass out the score sheets (pumpkins). They will be handed out in a first come first served basis. Arrive early on event day to ensure you get a pumpkin of the smaller size. Make sure you visit Orr's for some great local fruits.

Challenge Stations

What if I cannot do the Challenge Station? - You are given three chances to properly complete the Challenge. For example if you are doing push ups and the proctor is counting 1, 2, 3, 3, 3 you must not be doing a proper push up or they would of counted it. If you physically cannot continue to push up tell the proctor and you will get a time penalty noted on the score card and have to do some Burpees instead of the Challenge Station. You MUST try to complete each station.

FAQs

Can I carry water? - YES! PLEASE DO! We will allow a runner's belt or Camelback style hydration systems. Sorry, no backpacks to carry the bottle. You may be inclined to use it for the score card. What is a Burpee? - Click HERE for a link or ask your favorite Gold's Gym trainer. How will I know where to go? - You will receive a map of Poor House Farm and you are on your own. I would suggest visiting the park to familiarize yourself with the surroundings and learn to use a compass.

More FAQs

Will there be mud? - Unless it rains the night before no. We are not hosting a obstacle course style event with walls to climb. Why is my score card a pumpkin? - We wish to help the local grower and why not? It's all in good fun right? What is I drop my score card accidently? - Sorry but a damaged score card is still damaged and you will be faced with a time penalty. Will I get dirty? - Yes. But remember there will be no mud to crawl through.

Finding A Partner

What if I cannot find a partner? - Let us know or post something on the Facebook page. I'm sure you are not the only one in this boat and we may be able to match you up with someone.
