THREE DISTANCE OPTIONS: 87 MILES / 52.4 MILES / 38 MILES
As before, we are offering the 52.4 mile "double marathon" as well as the traditional 87 and 38 mile options. The 87 and 38 mile events start in Athens, GA, at the Classic Center, 7:30 a.m. sharp. The 52.4 mile "double marathon" skaters may board a bus immediately after the 87 and 38 mile start for a short ride to the 10 a.m., 52.4 mile event start. "Double marathon" skaters will join the traditional route just west of Dacula, then continue on to the finish in Atlanta, GA, along with 87 mile skaters who are still on the course.
The road courses (87, 52.4, and 38 mi.) are challenging and requires experienced skating ability, courage, and stamina.
OPEN TO QUAD SKATERS
Athens-to-Atlanta started as an all-quad event. Quad skaters have always been welcome and always will be. We recommend that you set up your quad skates for road skating with a rear brake for the downhills and softer road wheels. Any good skate shop should be able to help.
BUS TRANSPORTATION
The Event plans to offer, for a nominal fee ($30 per trip), one-way transportation from Atlanta to Athens on Friday evening, Oct. 3rd at 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday morning from Sheraton Square Atlanta to the starting line, leaving at 5:00 a.m. sharp (also $30). A bus will also be offered from the awards ceremony back to Athens, leaving around 7:30 p.m. (also $30).
REGISTRATION
LATE REGISTRATION is available Saturday, Oct. 8th at The Athens Classic Center from noon-6:00 p.m. No Event Day Registration Available.
