Brief Description

This is the original, one of a kind 119th annual (in dog years) "Snowshoe Event for Dogs and their People" to benefit local no-kill animal shelters. Recreational and Competitive divisions welcome all who wish to experience this unique and popular annual family event, which has become a spring tradition for Colorado's active dog lovers.

Located a few miles north of Aspen, just past the airport on the right as you approach Aspen.

PRE-REGISTER HERE or at the Ute Mountaineer in downtown Aspen. CHECK-IN & DAY OF EVENT REGISTRATION at BUMPS; upstairs at the BASE LODGE at BUTTERMILK 8:00-9:30AM. START at 10:00AM. Snowshoe, ski or hike 2,000 vertical feet over 2 miles, from the base of Buttermilk Mtn.to the East Summit Finish/Refueling Station. Demo snowshoes and the famous "Demo Dogs", for those who need a k-9 teammate, available. Dog and Owner look alike Costume Contest with special prizes! Erik's Epic Raffe and Awards Party, featuring the annual Hot Dog BBQ lunch is open to all participants and volunteers.
