Terri Bazalewski –Austin is a mother of 4 children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing, her first language is American Sign Language. She brings in over 13 years of teaching experience, ranging from teaching infants, to college level sign class. As a Deaf Mentor in the Deaf community, she is an avid advocate and board member for the Colorado Hands and Voices, a support group for parents who have children who have a hearing loss. Terri believes in the use of sign language as a natural manual communication tool for children. Terri has been using American Sign Language to enhance communication with her own children and they have succeeded at the age of 15 months with over 30 signs! Terri has experienced the benefits of using sign language with hearing babies and toddlers and is enthusiastic about bringing her knowledge of sign language and its benefits in early communication to families.
