Sisu Athletic Development is located near Utica, NY and specializes in training programs, running camps, and coaching services. Sisu is a Finnish word that translates to willpower, determination, perseverance, or simply GUTS.
Coach West is an RRCA, USTFCCCA, and USATF Level 1 Certified Coach. He currently holds the titles of Head Varsity Boys' Cross Country Coach, Assistant Varsity Coed Indoor Track & Field Coach, and Head Varsity Girls' Outdoor Track & Field Coach for the New Hartford Central School District. During his coaching career, his modified boys' and girls' cross country teams have won the Tri-Valley League Cross Country Championship (2011, 2012), his varsity girls' cross country team has won the Tri-Valley League Cross Country Championship (2013), his varsity boys' cross country team has won the Tri-Valley League Cross Country Championship (2014), and his indoor track & field teams have won the Independent League Indoor Track & Field Championship (2013, 2014). Coach West previously held the title of Volunteer Assistant Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach at SUNY Institute of Technology, in which the men's team won the North East Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship (2010).
Coach West is active in the local running scene and is also an active member of the Utica Roadrunners where he is the head of the Men's Racing Team, head of the Youth Development Committee, Race Director of the Utica Roadrunners XC Invitational, Meet Director of the USATF Future Stars New Hartford Grass Roots Meet, and on the Board of Directors.
