Brief Description

An Aquathlon is a sport that combines running and swimming. The run will take place on the beautiful FIU Biscayne Bay Campus Bay Area and the swim will take place in FIU's Outdoor Olympic Aquatic Center. The youth division is open to athletes ages 4-15. All participants will receive an USAT finisher dog tag and an USAT Splash & Dash t-shirt.

Distances

Ages 4-10 /Swim 100 yards/ Run 1K Ages 11-15 /Swim 200 yards/ Run 2K Ages 16 & UP /Swim 400 yards/ Run 5K

USAT Membership Required

A single-event permit can only be purchased through the race director for $12 (ADULTS) $10.00 (YOUTH 17 and under.) USA Triathlon does not sell single-day permits from their website. One-day members, you’re missing out on the benefits of becoming an annual member of USA Triathlon. To become an annual member, go to USA Triathlon website www.usatriathlon.org, the best benefits are with an annual membership!

Parking

The closest parking to the Start line is the FIU Library parking lot. Please park and follow the sidewalk to the eastside of campus. Our check-in/registration table will be set up outside the pool gate. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your wave start time to check-in and set up your transition area.

Wave Times

Adults (16 and older) 7:00 AM - Transistion opens at 6:30AM Youth (ages 4-6) 8:00 AM - Transition opens at 7:30AM Youth (ages 7-10) 8:45 AM - Transistion opens at 8:15AM Youth (ages 11-15) 9:30AM - Transistion opens at 9:00 AM These start times are an estimate, each wave will NOT begin until all participants from the previous wave have crossed the finish line.

Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required.
