Brief Description

Cumberland Valley Rails-to-Trails Council, Inc. (CVRTC) is an all volunteer, non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable corporation dedicated to conservation, recreation and alternative transportation in the Cumberland Valley of south-central Pennsylvania through the development of former railroad corridors and other areas into multi-use trails.

Additional Information

The Cumberland Valley Rail-Trail is an 11-mile passage from Shippensburg to Newville. Activities include walking, jogging, bicycling, and horseback riding. Plans include extending this non-motorized, multi-use recreation trail 11 miles to the north and finishing the last mile to the south connecting the business districts of Shippensburg and Carlisle along with the campuses of Shippensburg University and Dickenson College.
