Description

Camp Bluebonnet began in 1990, when a group of women from Texas concerned with the education of girls decided to provide them with a unique opportunity to enjoy their summer vacations as well as grow in the virtues necessary for a happy and wholesome life. The summer of 1991 saw the birth of "Camp" at Featherock Conference Center in Schulenburg, Texas, with 42 campers and 10 counselors/senior staff. The number of campers grew steadily, quickly outgrowing the facility. In 1997 the camp moved to a site in Hunt, Texas at which point "Camp" became Camp Bluebonnet. Word spread, Camp Bluebonnet kept growing, and in 2002 moved to its current location in Huntsville, Texas with 128 campers and 40 counselors/senior staff. In 2010, former campers, counselors and staff gathered at Featherock to celebrate their 20-year anniversary.
