Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Guthrie Theater, a nationally-acclaimed cultural destination in the heart of Downtown Minneapolis, by joining friends and family for a summertime 5K fun run! Rediscover the beauty and vitality of the Guthrie’s historic neighborhood in a 5K that showcases the Mississippi River, the iconic Stone Arch Bridge, and the magnificent Guthrie like you’ve never seen them before.
FREE Kids 50 Yard Dash
Kids may participate in a free 50 yard dash beginning at 9:45 a.m. at the same start line as the 5k. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest boy and girl in each age group: 5-6 year olds, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12.
Race-day number and packet pick-up will begin at 7:30 a.m. and will be located in the Mill City Farmer’s Market Tin Shed located next door to the Guthrie Theater. 818 S. Second Street, Mpls 55415. Run Volunteers will be on hand to direct you. Packet pick-up will also be available on Saturday June 22nd in the Mill City Museum lobby from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Race-day registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and will be located in the Mill City Farmer’s Market Tin Shed located next door to the Guthrie Theater. 818 S. Second Street, Mpls 55415. Run Volunteers will be on hand to direct you. UPDATE: PLEASE NOTE Race-day registration will be CASH and CREDIT CARD only.

Getting to the Guthrie & Parking
Parking is available in the ramp on South 2nd Street directly across from the Guthrie and in numerous parking lots throughout the neighborhood. The event rate is $8. The nearest MetroTransit bus stop for the Guthrie is the Route 7 or Route 22 stop on the corner of Washington Avenue at Chicago Avenue. For light rail, use the Downtown East/Metrodome Station stop. You’re sure to spot your favorite actors in the crowd! Theatrical attire welcome. Proceeds from the Guthrie Celebration 5K help support the Guthrie’s year-round programming on its three stages, in its classrooms, and in the community.
