Event Schedule: Registration: 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. Opening Ceremony: 9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Yoga and Meditation: 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Closing Ceremony: 11:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Directions and Parking

From South or East San Diego: Take I-8 to the Sports Arena Blvd. exit, make a right onto West Mission Bay Drive and continue on to West Mission Bay Drive ramp. Continue over the bridge and the parking lot will be on the left-hand side. From North San Diego: Take I-5 to the Sea World Drive exit, make a right onto Sea World Drive and continue on to West Mission Bay Drive ramp. Continue over the bridge and the parking lot will be on the left-hand side. - Parking is free in these lots.

Please join "Yoga for 9/11" at Bonita Cove East, Mission Bay Park this September 11th for a morning filled with harmony, peace and unity as we meditate and practice yoga together to honor the heroes and victims who tragically lost their lives the morning of September 11th, 2011. All proceeds will go towards the International Association of Fire Fighters Disaster Relief Fund.

Our Mission

On the morning of September 11, 2001, our world stopped. We will always remember the devastating, heart wrenching impact of terrorist attacks in Manhattan, New York, Arlington, VA, and Shanksville, PA. We will forever honor and remember the heroes who risked and gave their lives to save the lives of others. This September 11th, 2011, on the tenth anniversary of 9/11, we invite you to come together as a community to commemorate the firefighters, emergency responders and souls lost on that day.

Our Cause

The International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Disaster Relief Fund provides assistance to IAFF members who suffer financial hardship as the result of a federally declared disaster area or in cases of natural or man-made disasters, such as floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, fires or civil disturbances.

Helping Fire Fighters Help You

Disbursements from the fund are only be made to IAFF members suffering a catastrophic loss with resulting financial hardship following such a disaster and are not granted to cover costs to perform building or property repairs. Disbursements are only allowed for immediate housing, food, medical supplies and services, clothing and other similar disaster relief. The maximum amount of any grant is $500.00 for any single disaster occurrence.

Upon registration, a personal, customizable online fundraising web page will be created for you should you desire to raise additional funds through donations for the IAFF Disaster Relief Fund.

The IAFF Disaster Relief Fund is governed by a five-member Board of Trustees chaired by IAFF General President Harold A. Schaitberger. The IAFF Disaster Relief Fund is a 501 (c)(3) Trust Fund.
