Join the Urban Ecology Center’s field biologists to study urban wildlife populations through projects such as bird banding, turtle, snake and small mammal surveys, and an optional family bat hike*will there be a hike?. Experience first-hand what it’s like to become a research scientist studying urban ecology!

About This Organizer

The Urban Ecology Center is a non-profit organization with 3 branches strategically placed throughout the city of Milwaukee, WI.  The Center mission is to foster ecological understanding as inspiration for change, neighborhood by neighborhood.  Our three Environmental Community Centers: Provide outdoor science education for urban youth, protect and use public natural areas, making them safe, accessible and vibrant, preserve and enhance these natural areas and their surrounding waters, promote community by offering resources -that support learning, volunteerism, stewardship, recreation and camaraderie, and practice and model environmentally responsible behaviors.  Specifically, our Summer Camp program helps kids, ages 3-15 to connect with nature through a variety of activities including; crafts, climbing trees, building forts, canoeing, biking, camping, photography, swimming, and much more!
