About This Activity

Both the Get It Dunn 5K and half marathon are chip timed. Parking available in all UW-Stout parking lots including lots near Wilson park (next to 5K start) and behind Mainstreet Health & Fitness. A FREE shuttle from Burger King will be taking half marathoners to the start of their race. We encourage EVERYONE to use the shuttle. Shuttle runs from 7:00 a.m. from the back of the Burger King parking lot until 7:45 a.m. There is no parking in the Burger King lot due to the post race celebration, but a lot of parking available in Stout and city lots as well as on the surrounding streets.


The Get It Dunn 5K near 9th Av. East and 6th St East. Participants will run down to the Red Cedar Trail where they will get on Stokke Trail. Stokke Trail will take participants to the dam and where they will cross over the bridge that connects north and south Menomonie. The course will finish behind the Greater Menomonie Area Chamber of Commerce on Wilson Street, a block from Burger King where the post race celebrations will occur.


The half marathon starts at 8:00 a.m. east of Lammers Foods and west of 2018 County Road J (Dairyland Road) . Runners will run out of town and enjoy the beautiful Dunn County countryside. Between approximately miles 3-6 runners will be challenged by hills and winding roads until they cross over Hwy 25 and head down to Irvington where they will get on the Red Cedar Trail. The trail offers scenic views, shade and a flat packed gravel course for approximately 2.5 miles. At the end of the Red Cedar Trail, participants will get on Stokke Trail. At the end of Stokke Trail, participants will cross over the bridge that connects north and south Menomonie, past the hisoric Mable Tainter theater, run on a portion of UW-Stout';s campus finishing on Wilson Street a block from Burger King where post race celebrations will be held immediately after the race.


There will be water offered at the beginning of both races. Water and Powerade will also be available to participants at approximately the half-way point of the 5K. The half marathon will have seven water stops and several Powerade stops spread over the course in 1.5 and 2 mile intervals. There will be no food provided on the course so participants should carry food if they want nourishment during the race. After the race, a wide variety of food and beverages will be provided to participants at the post race celebration.

Half marathon starts at 8:00 a.m. east of Lammers Foods and west of 2018 County Road J (Dairyland Road) in Menomonie. 5K starts near 9th Av. East and 6th St East in Menomonie at 8:30 a.m. After running through the beautiful Stout campus all participants will finish on Wilson Street, a block south of Main Street & less than a block from the post race celebration at Burger King where there will be food and refreshments for participants as well as the awards ceremony and entertainment.
