Description
The Indian/Celina Challenge is without a doubt one of the toughest Half/Full marathons or 8 Mile trail races you will run in the entire Midwest. This race is not for the weak at heart, but rather those who feel able to push to the limit to complete the most unforgiving course on which you will ever set foot. The course is a 13.1 mile / 26.2 mile run over what is known as The Two Lakes Loop in the Hoosier National Forest. The course will run a perimeter around two lakes (Indian Lake and Lake Celina). The half marathon will run 1 loop around both lakes while those wishing to complete the full marathon will run 2 full loops around the perimeter. Those wishing to run the 8 Mile race will traverse Lake Celina before hitting a fire access road that loops you back around to the start/finish.
We ask that all runners who register have some knowledge of trail-running. This course will have rocks, roots, holes, mud, and large streams to go through. While we could do some major work to get around these, we realize that our runners love The Challenge as it is. Do not come to set new PR's. Come to get dirty!!
Event schedule and times
Race time is 6:30am for all 3 race distances. We ask that you show up a minimum of 45 minutes prior to race time to be shuttled to the start line in time for the start. The marathon has a cut-off time of 7 hours - runners over 3:30 at the halfway mark will be removed from the race.
