What's Included

Want a hands-on camp this summer? We've got it! Want to use your unique style to create a garment for yourself as well as to refashion older costumes for this year’s Brookwood in Revue? You can! Under the guidance of Cathy Marrero, campers will use the parameters of a pattern and add their own flair and embellishments to make a personal summer to bring home, as well as assist in costume design for the Summer at Brookwood production. Seamstress extraordinaire, Cathy Marrero, offers individual help to beginning and intermediate sewing enthusiasts as they take design from concept to product. Campers evaluate fabrics and choose the pattern that best expresses their sense of style. They will learn to take measurements and figure out sizing. Straight stitching, applying trim, seam finishes and more will be explored by hand and with a sewing machine. Students will see their pieces on display as actors use them in their final performance and will also take home pieces of their own.
