CWCRun on the Wild Side® is an opportunity for Southern California residents to encourage people to care about wildlife and help to give them a second chance. You can join the movement by committing to start walking or running today!
\nRun on the Wild Side® is a California Wildlife Center (CWC) hosted event that raises funds and awareness about living with wildlife and provides a second chance for animals in peril through rescue, medical care, rehabilitation and return to their natural habitats. \nFeeling competitive? CWC is excited to introduce a new event in 2013...Run on the Wild Side®! This is a timed 5K run through a predetermined course on the Zuma Beach lot! Runners will receive a bib and timing chip in order to receive an official race time.
As in past years, the event also features a 5K (3.1 mile) beach Walk that begins and ends at Zuma Beach and includes information about wildlife, snacks and refreshments, certificate of completion and opportunity to witness a real wildlife release right on the beach! The event is open to all ages and is perfect for families, company groups and kids and adult teams - hikers, walkers and joggers. Prizes are awarded to the top adult, youth and team fundraisers. \nAfter check-in and FREE t-shirt pick-up, all participants enjoy free snacks, drinks, trainer-led warm-up exercises, our wild DJ and a rehabilitated animal release on the beach (see event Agenda for details). \nWhether you want to participate as individual, form a team or be a virtual participant from the comfort of your sofa, we encourage you all to help us reach our $30,000 fundraising goal by involving your family, friends and co-workers; and asking for their support.
