One of America's Top 100 Open Water Swims!
Experience swimming in one of the saltiest and most unique bodies of water on the planet at the fourth annual Great Salt Lake Open Water Swim. Choose from 1 mile or 8.12 mile point-to-point swims with wetsuit and non-wetsuit divisions.
There will be a new twist for the 1 mile event this year: "Beat the Brine Shrimp". One swimmer will be designated as the "brine shrimp" and will be visible to all other swimmers. Anyone who finished ahead of the "brine shrimp" will win an extra prize.
This event is no longer sanctioned by USMS. The one mile swim is open to swimmers 12 years of age and up. The 8.12 mile swim is open to swimmers 16 years of age and up.
Please be aware that swimmers participating in the 8.12 mile swim from Antelope Island to Black Rock Beach are required to have their own support boat and paddler. We can help you find a kayak and have it ready for you at the starting line for an additional $30. We can also find you a support paddler for an additional $30.
The price for the 1-mile swim will increase on June 4, 2014 to $55. Same day registrations will be accepted for the 1-mile swim for $55. No same day registrations will be accepted for the 8-mile swim.
