Water and / or gatoraide approximatly every two miles. Portable toliets available approximatly every two miles. Mile markers every mile. Run and walk easy to follow. Arrows, bike riders and volunteers to lead the way. Aid stations with EMS and certified CPR volunteers on site
Refunds available for this race only if event is cancelled.. Race will continue if it rains. Race may be delayed or cancelled if there is severe thunder storms Average temperature in September is highs 74 and lows 49.
Event bags can be picked up Friday the day before the race at Endurance House in Middleton Wisconsin 1 pm - 6pm. Packet pick up also available at Olbrich Park September 13 the day of the run. ( 7 am until 7:45 am )
Tempature flags at every water aid station
White Flag- The temperature is below 50. Green flag- Low risk of heat injury. Temperature 50 degrees to 65 degrees. Yellow flag-Moderate risk of heat injury. Temperature of 65 degrees to 73 degrees. Red flag- High risk. Temperature of 72 degrees to 82 degrees. Participants should drink plenty water and slow down. Black flag- Extreme risk. Temperature is above 82 degrees. Race will be cancelled if temperature reaches 82 degrees before race is finished.
Prizes to the first 3 M/F finishing the Marathon . 1st-$500,2nd-$300 and $3rd-100. Half Marathon 1st-$300, 2nd $200, 3rd $100.00. Prizes to M/F age groups. Finisher metals to all participants. Awards to the first 3 M/F adults and boys and girls under 18 finishing the 4 mile run / walk. Free shoes provided by endurance House to the Top M/F in all races. Prizes must be picked up at the award ceremony at 10:30 am and at 12:30 for the whole Marathon.

There is several parking lots at Olbrich Park. You can also park on Lakeland ave and in the surrounding streets. Please do not park at Olbrich Botanical Gardens this year. Respect there parking space. They may be having a wedding there.
Training for the Marathon
Let Jamie Adcock, Madison's Running Diva Mom, help you train for the Garden Half Marathon or Full Marathon on Sept 13. Jamie's custom training programs will help you plan your runs around your life. She will help you gradually prepare for the half or full marathon and will check in with you weekly to answer questions and provide advice. Marathon will start at 8:00 am. Half Marathon will start at 8:15 am. Walk starts at 8:30 am. Location of the start of the race will be at Lakeland Ave and Atwood Ave. All participants in the Half Marathon and 4 mile run/ walk will receive a Performance shirt. Children will receive a cotton event t-shirt. Complimentary fruit, chocolate milk, and cookies at the end of the race with a 2 beer maximum. All runners will be timed.
