The PGA Golf Sports Academy program will help youth learn to play golf and have fun in the process. The PGA Sports Academy program has three Levels: Sport (ages 5-8), Player (ages 9-13), and Champion (ages 14-17 for the intermediate to advanced golfer). Each level has five areas that will help youth learn, develop, and practice the skills to become a better golfer and enjoy the sport of golf: *Fitness, *Golf Skills, *Sportsmanship, Etiquette & Rules, Golf and "Near Golf" Experiences, & *Golf and Skills Challenges. The heart of the Academy is Long Term Player Development. The goal is to develop each individual's physical and golf skills in a steady progression based on age and ability. A main focus is on developing core golfers that will have pathways to continue to play golf socially or competitively based on each individual's desire. The PGA Golf Program offers "on course" golf experiences during the summer months and focuses more on short game, fitness, and motor skill development during the winter months. On course play is conducted at Stone Gate Golf Course during the summertime. During the winter time, the Academy is conducted indoors at Golf Headquarters.
