Team UltraLadies is a program that specializes in the development of the distance runner. Team UltraLadies is designed for runners who are training for long distance events, including marathons and ultra marathons. Don’t let the name fool you; Team UltraLadies is for UltraLadiesMen too!
How Does Ultraladies Coaching Work
Team UltraLadies partners with you for personalized coaching through email and telephone to help you develop and achieve your individual running goals whether to finish your first marathon or ultra marathon, or to improve your performance at a particular distance. The program provides the fundamentals of endurance training while understanding that successful distance running incorporates psychological components that may hinder or enhance physical performance.
What Can I Expect
Team UltraLadies will address base training and build ups for events, strength and speed development, cross training, pacing and race tactics, and the recovery period. Team UltraLadies works with you to develop strategies for empowering you to become the athlete you were meant to be.

Team UltraLadies includes: Runner Assessment; Goal Setting (short term and long term); Development of Training Plans; Tactical Run Strategies; Sports Psychology; Weekly or Monthly Evaluations of Results; Post-Event Assessment; Recovery Plan.
What Do Coaching Fees Include
Team UltraLadies services include: An initial Assessment; Development of a customized Training Plan; Weekly or monthly telephone coaching sessions; Email coaching follow up.
What Are the Coaching Fees
Coaching fees are shown below. All runners start with Plan A and then select a follow-up plan of their choice.
Plan A: Consultation and Training Plan Development
($200) Consultation and Training Plan Development: Includes an Initial Runner Assessment; 16 to 26-Week Training Plan; one 30-Minute Telephone Follow-up.
Plan B-1: Weekly Follow-up (Month-to-Month)
($120) Includes (4) 30-Minute Telephone Consultations, unlimited email follow ups; This is a follow-up to Plan A.
Plan B-2: Weekly Follow-up (3-Month Option)
($300) Includes (12) 30-Minute Telephone Consultations, unlimited email follow ups; This is a follow-up to Plan A.
Plan C: Edit Existing Training Plan
($50) Changes or tweaks to your current training plan that may arise; as a result of changes in your race schedule, for example.
Nancy's Running Background
Nancy Shura-Dervin has been a distance runner since 1990 and has finished more than 100 races of distances from the marathon to 100+ mile races.In 2003, Nancy became the first person documented to qualify for and complete the two most prestigious foot races in the world, in the same year; the Boston Marathon and the Badwater 135 Mile Ultra-Marathon.
Nancy's Coaching Background
Nancy is an RRCA Certified Running Coach and holds a CA nursing license. Her first career was as a groundbreaking educator, coach and motivational speaker for 25 years in the field of natural childbirth, where she combined physical, mental and emotional strategies to help women accomplish enhanced birth experiences.In 1995, Nancy turned her skills toward runners by founding the UltraLadies Running Club that specializes in helping runners transition from shorter races to distance running.
Nancy's Race Directing Background
Nancy is also owner/race director of Trail Run Events that produces annual trail runs in the Los Angeles area including the Valley Crest Half Marathon on historic Mulholland Drive and the world famous Bulldog 50K/25K Trail Runs.
