About This Activity

You won't want to miss this unique new urban experience in the heart of Los Angeles! One hundred beginning and previous experienced kayakers will tackle a 3/4-mile stretch of the Glendale Narrows in a individually timed sprint race for glory (and cool T-shirts and swag). Contestants compete in various age- and skill-level categories for awards and other prizes. Boat and gear rental is included or you can bring your own kayak, SUP, or canoe. Space is limited to just 100 participants; first-come, first-served until available tickets are taken. No tandems, so please one person only in each boat.

Additionally, there’s a new 3 mile down river race open for 25 ADVANCED adult paddlers! This race is also individually timed, but doesn't have boat or gear rental. Paddlers are expected to have access to their own boats and gear (helmet, PFD, paddle). Paddlers will find their way through a river having small rocky rapids, dead ends, shallow areas with boulders, and a portage to the finish line!
