This class is an introduction to the fundamentals of classical ballet focusing on the development of technique, proper alignment, flexibility, and strength. Class time will focus on proper barre work to build a solid foundation for floor exercises, turns, jumps and combinations that incorporate all aspects of classical ballet. This class is also an introduction to the fundamentals of tap dance. Beginning with the development of basis steps, body positioning, foot control and coordination, this class will introduce technique proper alignment, flexibility and arm movement. Introduction to the proper terminology and definitions will also be presented.
