What's Included

Robotics 101: Ages 10+ • Monday-Friday, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM Instructors: Bill Cloyd & Robert McGillivray Whether it’s designing a robot to shoot basketball or hit a piñata, Ro- botics 101 will present solid, basic instruction in robotic mechanism fundamentals. This class will make use of the Newton’s Attic Ro- bo-Chassis, a remote controlled tank- drive platform that allows for the addition of pneumatically or electrically powered constructs. Each student will have access to a remote control robo-chassis and will spend the class designing and fabricating mechanisms of unique de- sign. Participants will learn basic tool use, design, and fundamental engineering principles as they create their inventions from scratch. At the end of the class, students will demonstrate their projects, and everyone gets to keep the mechanisms they construct.
