What's Included

Designed to increase and enhance a basic understanding of life, this introductory biology course provides foundational skills for any student with an interest in exploring the natural sciences. Topics of discussion will include the properties of life, levels of organization, the scientific method, cell theory, and DNA. Students will have the opportunity to work in a laboratory setting, with microscopes, applying knowledge gained in class to preform experiments, and investigate the behavior of both plant and animal cells. Homeschoolers may also find this fulfills a lab credit for their high schoolers.

Newton's Attic, a nonprofit founded in 1998 by Bill Cloyd, is dedicated to providing students with highly unusual educational experiences and providing STEM (Science Technology, Engineering Mathematics) educational resources to parents, students and teachers. Our mission is to stimulate interest in science and engineering through exciting hands-on projects, classes and summer camps.
