Then you will move into 8-hours of hands on Sailboat training and sailing. You will sail in an American 14.6 Daysailer. This is an excellent training vessel with a cockpit large enough for four adults featuring comfortable seats and backrests. On the water you will learn:

• Sail Trimming
• More about Tacking and Jibing
• Wind Shifts
• Rules of the Road and Safety Equipment
• Grounding and Anchoring
• Returning and Docking
• Minimum group size is 4; maximum group size is 20
• You must know how to swim
Sailing-101 training takes place on Old Hickory Lake near Gallatin TN. The course begins Saturday morning at 8am CST at the boat harbor. We will provide all of your training equipment and a lunch on Saturday. Bring a water bottle and dress appropriately for the weather and season.

We specialize in outdoor education and adventure while promoting the protection, enjoyment and understanding of the wilderness.
We offer guided and unguided trips here in Middle Tennessee, for every ability level and outdoor interest-from backpacking and climbing to canoeing and kayaking and caving and fishing to name a few. Our goal is to teach people skills to safely enjoy the outdoors and to care for the outdoors in a responsible and knowledgeable manner.
