SAVE THE BRIDGES PROJECT
In 2011, one month after the 33rd Annual Covered Bridge Metric Century, Tropical Storm Lee pummeled the East Coast. This devastating storm severely damaged several of our county’s beloved covered bridges.
Over the years, the Lancaster Bike Club has used the proceeds from the Covered Bridge Ride to support our grant program, awarding funds to a variety of community groups who meet the criteria of promoting cycling and safe cycling programs. Many of these grantees are local police bike patrols.
Last year, we expanded our grant program so we can help in the restoration of our picturesque covered bridges. If you would like to know more, look for our table, LBC SAVE THE BRIDGES project, at the food area after the ride.
