About This Activity

May 18-20 will be the FIFTH annual prep camp smaller groups paced rides, clinics and lots of info train hard with experienced triathletes. This is geared to all long course traithlete and will include all levels from novice to elite. 65 Campers maxJune 15-17 is our 12th annual Long Course Camp This is the weekend that will give you experience you will need to have a great race. Cover the distance of the race during 2 1/2 days of awesome training on the race course. All levels welcome

You will not recieve the itinerary until the week before camp. The information below is what we have been doing the last 11 years. The times and locations may change but the basic camp stays the same. The attraction of this camp is the people that attend it and the philosophyis basic leave your ego at home train hard and have fun. Brief Description: Main June campCamp includes Great gift bag with lots of goodies. Patrolled 112 mile bike with drinks and fuel at 56 miles Fully supported long run with support approx every 3-4 miles Mass swim start approx- 100-150 people with lead kayak and race clock Saturday evening Question and answers with top age groupers, pros and coaches on Saturday night.huge raffle and lots of info. Sunday night barbeque with plenty of food, drink and lot's of laughs. Learning the course and meeting lots of new friends along the way....pricelessAdditional InformationThe Largest and Longest running Lake Placid Iron camp hands down. We have brought over 700 people through the course over the years. We will not video tape your stroke or sell you a new bike what we will do is take you on the course and give you the confidence and tools you will need to have your best race. Base Camp Cobble Mountain Lodge Rt. 86 Northwood Rd. (518) 523-2040 ALL WORKOUTS BEGIN ON TIME! Due to the size of the camp we will now meet at the Olympic Oval. All campers are encouraged to do these workouts on the time and day specified it creates larger groups for safety and compatibility of riders and runners, however I know that some people are not staying for the whole weekend and will have to adjust to their own schedules during some of these key workouts. Please make sure you?re your equipment is ready to go at the start of all workouts. Have Identification on you at all times. Bring all types of climate clothing it gets cool at night and could be cool in the mornings for the ride. Check out the weather for Lake Placid at http://www.lakeplacid.com/shared/home/weatherframe.htm Friday- Check in 11:00-1:00 , 3:00-5:30 and 7:30-9:00 Check in fill out emergency contact and waver form and pick up goody bags bags and course maps get participant armband at The Cobble Mountain Lodge. 6:00- Open Water Swim 1 loop- (unsupervised and optional) 7:15- Ride the run course- ( unsupported and optional) Saturday 6:30- Overview of the bike course for first timers riding the course. ALL WELCOME 7:00 ? Long Bike- 2 loops on the bike course, followed by a 30-60 minute transition run (key workout) meet at the Olympic Oval for Camp Photo and start of the ride. Bring your Drinks, food or special needs for the second loop and we will keep transport them to the Cobble Mountain Lodge for you. They will be there when you are finishing your assent back into town.. We will also have plenty of Hammer Gel, Perpetuem, Amino Vital and Gatorade at the lodge for you to refill on . We will also have PB&JELLY for you to pick up for your second loop. Bring your running shoes and fuel belts in a bag for the run and you can keep them at the Cabin. 2:30- Nap and hang out at the beach, check out a hockey game at the rink or find something to do at http://www.lakeplacid.com/flash/whattodo/z-search_events.htm 6:00- Dinner Question and answer at The Crowne Plaza confrence room...Camp Photo9:00- ? Night Cap -Lights Out ?Sunday- 8:00- Mass Swim Start at Mirror Lake 2 loops of the swim course.(key workout) A lead Kayak will be provided Camp Photo will be taken. 12:30- Long Run 2:00-2:30(key workout) Bring your fuel belts we will leave at the Olympic Oval The transition area and finish for the race? We will then proceed on the run course. Support will be provided at designated areas approx every 4-5 miles and also patrolled by a vehicle. 4:30 ? Barbeque, Pizza, Beer and Blenders will be at the Cobble Mountain Lodge for a party.( You don't want to miss this !) Bring a Blanket and Chair and let your hair hang down. Monday- Unofficial 8:00- One loop of the bike and a swim- Ask for a late checkout- Tthere will only be support at the Cobble Lodge not on the course. Good Luck!
