All proceeds from this event will benefit STAR/PAL & the San Diego Police Officer's Assoc. Memorial Fund. Event consists of 10 minute pool swim, 20 minute cycle ride (stationary bike), and 15 minute treadmill run. Distances for each category is combined to determine the winners. While on duty on Saturday, August 6, 2011, Officer Jeremy Henwood stopped for a quick bite to eat at a local McDonalds, and without knowing it, provided his last act of kindness as he purchased a cookie for young boy who didn’t have enough money. As he departed, Officer Henwood left that young boy with advice and words of encouragement to work hard to reach his goals. Officer Henwood and fellow likeminded officers, whose generosity and passion to support youth in our community, are invaluable and a key component to the existence of STAR/PAL. Thanks to our committed volunteers from local law enforcement agencies and community support, STAR/PAL is able to provide over 10,000 youth services annual throughout the county of San Diego. Event Highlights: Bring in the New Year with an exciting indoor triathlon. Event held at Jewish Community Center located at 4126 Executive Drive. Compete against fellow law enforcement officers, public safety personnel, and members of the community, in a event that directly benefits the underserved youth of San Diego and the San Diego Police Officers Association’s Widows and Orphans Fund.
