P.E. Teacher Whips Students Into Shape, Also Nae Naes

If your kid won't stop doing The Whip, The Nae Nae, or the Stanky Leg, try turning the dance routine into a workout routine so they can get some exercise out of it. That's what elementary school P.E. teacher Jared Paschall did with his class in Harvest, Alabama.

In the video above, Paschall incorporates simple exercises into Silento's popular "Watch Me" hit song to get students warmed up for class. The kids still get to whip and nae nae, but they do jumping jacks during the chorus, lunges instead of the stanky leg, and high knees when they're supposed to be breaking their legs, just to name a few.

"My students ask me daily to play (Watch Me) while we are doing our lesson," Paschall told AL.com. "Since they loved the song so much, and many of them already knew some moves, I decided to incorporate exercise into music and get them excited about doing a cardio workout."

Before the routine begins in the video, Paschall encourages viewers to "take it back to your school and do it there also." He also submitted the video to the White House, hoping Michelle Obama will consider working the routine into her "Let's Move" initiative.

With that kind of creativity and passion to get kids moving, it comes as no surprise that Paschall was named Harvest Elementary's 2014-2015 Teacher of the Year.
