You'll get an overview of the basics of improvisation: listening, give and take, working as a team, agreement, building on ideas. Whether you want to perform improv or are looking for a way to loosen up, lighten up, or build confidence, it's a great first step. ComedyCity classes, like our Major League Improv shows, have short-form improv games as their foundation. Using games lets students explore and master skills and techniques they can use in short- and long-form improv. Plus, games are fun...and if you're not having fun, what's the point? Improv 101 is an 8-week, 2 1/2 hour class. It's a pre-requisite to the other classes in ComedyCity Improv School. Cost is $125 (save $25 when you register early). INSTRUCTOR: Clay Morgan What I do: I am the owner and head improv jock at ComedyCity. Even though I run the day-to day operations at the club I am lucky enough to perform each week. I have loved theatre since a young age and am happy that it has become my full-time career. I have a Bachelor Degree in Broadcast Media from the University of Central Missouri and frequently use the skills I learned in college. I have been performing at ComedyCity since 1997 when it was called ComedySportz and we were located in the River Market. I was also the co-founder and performed with the first Improv Thunderdome Champions, Loaded Dice. I have had the opportunity to travel around the United States performing improv. I also can be seen at various events across the metro emceeing and DJing. Teaching philosophy: I believe you can fly. I believe you can touch the sky. Weirdest improv thang: When I started performing at ComedyCity I walked into my first improv workshop and saw a girl across the room. I told the person next to me that I was going to marry that girl. And guess what? I did!!!
