Life Guard Training

About This Activity

This course will be the 2012, newly revised Red Cross life guard class. Prerequisites for this class include being 15 years of age, a continuous 300 yd. swim, a timed swimming test with a 10 lb. brick, and treading water for 2 minutes using your legs only, no arms. The course will last at least 25 hrs. and 30 min. in length. Certification requirements include, attending all sessions, demonstrating competency in all required skills, activities and final skill scenarios, as well as at least 80% on the final written exam. Upon passing all the course requirements, each candidate will be certified in life guarding and First Aid (good for 2 years) and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (good for 2 years.)  Limited class size
