About This Activity

Come join us for a great weekend of events! Proceeds from the events benefit the Jekyll Island Foundation which supports the continued operation and growth of the Georgia Sea Turtle Center.


Pasta Dinner with "Scute" the Sea Turtle


The Friday night before the race (5/20/2011) a pasta dinner will be offered at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center. This will be an opportunity for athletes to tour the Center and enjoy a pasta dinner before the big race on Saturday morning. $15 per adults and $10 (Children 4-13). Children 3 and under are admitted free. Cash bar available. Admission price also includes entry to the Georgia Sea Turtle Center for the evening.


The Triathlons will begin early Saturday morning at Great Dunes Park. Volunteers from the Georgia Sea Turtle Center will be present along the route to cheer on athletes as they proceed through the course. Scute the Sea Turtle will make appearances thoughout the morning and several educational information booths will be placed near the finish line from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.


A 5K run on the beach will take place after the start of the triathlons and a sea turtle release will follow the awards presentation as the culminating event.

7:30 am - Sprint Triathlon Start

8:00 am - 5K Beach Run

12:00 pm - Awards Ceremony

12:30 pm - Sea Turtle release

Overall Masters (40+) Male/Female

Medals 3 Deep in Clydesdale, Athena, Relay Teams, and 5 Year Age Groups (19-under through 80-up)


5K Awards:

3 Deep in 5 Year Age Groups (14-under through 80-up)
